“Swanton High School has a long history of providing quality education along with various extra-curricular activities and strong athletic teams. This could not be accomplished without the hard work of our dedicated educational staff, involved student body, coaches who go above and beyond, supportive parents, and community support. I am confident that we will continue to provide our students with truly unique school experiences.”

Welcome, Swanton High School Families,

It is with great enthusiasm and excitement that I write this letter of introduction as the newly appointed Assistant Principal of Swanton High School. I am truly honored to be in this position and I am looking forward to assisting Mr. Longbrake in making this year a great success.

Education has always been my passion. Prior to joining the Swanton family, I started as an educational paraprofessional and knew that I had found my calling.  That led me to pursue my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Special Education and Administration while I worked as a Behavior-focused Intervention Specialist before transitioning to overseeing a Job Training program where I worked as much in the community as I did within the school system. Outside of the classroom, I found my other passion, coaching. As a Cross-Country and Track coach, I took teams to the Division I OHSSA championships. Seeing students grow and develop their athletic abilities was an incredible honor and allowed me to develop strong community ties as we rallied around our state-bound athletes.

My decision to become an administrator stems from a strong desire to make a positive impact on an entire school community. I am dedicated to promoting a positive learning environment for all students where student achievement and academic success is our goal. Academic success should result in an individualized life path for each student. I believe in encouraging students to find success and fulfillment in a variety of post-secondary outcomes, whether that be post-secondary, vocational, military-based, or volunteer-based. I look forward to working with students and their families and providing guidance, support, and encouragement as they determine their next steps. I hope to support all students in reaching their goals.

Swanton High School has a long history of providing quality education along with various extra-curricular activities and strong athletic teams. This could not be accomplished without the hard work of our dedicated educational staff, involved student body, coaches who go above and beyond, supportive parents, and community support. I am confident that we will continue to provide our students with truly unique school experiences.

Throughout the 2019/2020 school year, I am excited to meet new people in the school and community. My experiences thus far have proven to me that Swanton High School is my home. I am excited for the year to begin and to get to know the students. Please know that my door is always open, or I am a phone call/e-mail away. I am here to support Swanton High School in any way I can. I’m looking forward to a great year!

Respectfully,

Anthony J. Menna
